Introducing WAHOO Bulk Blog Date Editor — App Developed by WAHOO BOOTCAMP

The Problem With Managing Blog Posts in Shopify

If you've ever published multiple blog posts in a single session, you already know the frustrations: every article gets the same timestamp, your blog displays them in the wrong order, and fixing it means opening each post one by one. And if you've ever needed to move a post from one blog to another, you know that Shopify's native admin makes it a cumbersome, multi-step process — with no built-in URL redirect when the post moves.

For a 10-post series, that's 10 separate page loads, 10 manual edits, and a lot of wasted time on something that should take 30 seconds.

That's exactly why we built the WAHOO Blog Content Manager — a custom app that lives inside your Shopify admin and lets you manage all your blog posts in one focused view. It's part of the growing suite of tools built by WAHOO DEVELOPER's Shopify Sidekick AI Store programme, designed to make Shopify store management faster and smarter.

What the WAHOO Blog Content Manager Does

The app gives you a clean, grouped view of all your blog posts — organised by blog — with the ability to switch blogs, edit publish dates inline, bulk-edit multiple posts, and automatically create URL redirects when posts move. All without leaving the page.

Here's what you can do with it:

  • View posts grouped by blog — Articles are organised into collapsible sections by blog, sorted alphabetically. Each section shows the blog name and article count.
  • Switch a post to a different blog — Every row has a dropdown to move the article to any other blog in your store — instantly, with one selection.
  • Auto URL redirect on blog change — When a post moves from one blog to another, the app automatically creates a Shopify URL redirect from the old URL to the new one. Your SEO and inbound links are protected without any manual work.
  • Edit publish dates inline — Change the publish date directly in each row. It saves immediately — no button needed. A "Saved" badge confirms the update.
  • Bulk edit selected posts — Select multiple posts using checkboxes and apply bulk actions: change blog, change publish date, or change published/draft status — all at once. Bulk blog moves also auto-create URL redirects for every moved post.
  • Select by blog group — Each blog section has its own group checkbox to select all posts in that blog at once.

The Three Core Features in Detail

1. Blog Switcher with Auto URL Redirect

Moving a blog post to a different blog in Shopify changes its URL — from /blogs/old-blog/post-slug to /blogs/new-blog/post-slug. Without a redirect, every inbound link and search engine reference to the old URL returns a 404.

The Blog Content Manager handles this automatically. The moment you move a post to a different blog — whether individually or in bulk — the app creates a Shopify URL redirect from the old URL to the new one. Your SEO is protected. Your inbound links keep working. No manual redirect management required.

2. Inline Publish Date Editing

Every article row shows a live date field pre-populated with the current publish date. Change the date and it saves immediately — no save button, no page reload. While saving, the field shows "Saving…". On success, a green "Saved" badge appears briefly then clears. If there's an error, the message shows inline below the field.

3. Bulk Edit — Blog, Date, and Status

Select any number of posts using the checkboxes — or use the group checkbox to select all posts in a specific blog — and a bulk action toolbar appears with three options:

  • Change Blog — Move all selected posts to a different blog, with URL redirects created automatically for each one
  • Change Publish Date — Set the same publish date for all selected posts at once
  • Change Status — Publish or unpublish all selected posts in one action

How to Use It: Step-by-Step

Step 1: Open the App

Navigate to Apps → WAHOO Blog Content Manager in your Shopify admin. The app loads all your blogs and articles automatically, grouped by blog.

Step 2: Find Your Posts

Expand or collapse blog sections using the chevron toggle. Each section shows the blog name and total article count. All sections start expanded by default.

Step 3: Edit Individually or in Bulk

For a single post: change the blog using the dropdown, or update the publish date directly in the row — both save immediately.

For multiple posts: check the boxes next to the articles you want to update (or use the group checkbox to select all posts in a blog), then use the bulk action toolbar to change blog, date, or status for all selected posts at once.

Step 4: URL Redirects Are Created Automatically

Any time a post moves to a different blog — individually or in bulk — the app creates the URL redirect automatically. You'll see a success banner confirming how many articles were moved and how many redirects were created.
