Codified Software — Custom Vertical ERP, CRM & WMS Connected to Shopify

This article preserves an earlier Codified Software idea as architecture background. Codified Commerce's current offer is CAT AI Automations, rather than a packaged program to build a new ERP, CRM or WMS portal. Existing external systems can still be connected to Shopify when the business need and available interfaces justify it.

Where middleware helps

  • ERP: map order, inventory and finance ownership.
  • CRM: pass approved customer and sales events into a governed pipeline.
  • WMS or OMS: coordinate order release, availability, shipment and returns.

What a reliable connection requires

Define system of record, permissions, field mapping, API limits, event sequencing, retries, idempotency, monitoring and reconciliation. The design should favor the merchant's existing tools where they meet the need. A custom external platform has separate implementation and maintenance obligations; its cost, timeline and ownership cannot be inferred from the price of one Automation.

See the A1 Chips middleware case study for phased delivery context and CAT AI for the current purchase path.
