HYO Farms India Shopify Growth Support Case Study

Building an SEO, AEO and GEO foundation before CRO

Client: HYO Farms India
Shopify store: hyofarmsindia.com
Service: Codified Commerce Shopify Growth Support
Execution model: Human-led, AI-assisted productized workflow
Initial phase: Store optimisation and organic discovery

Project overview

HYO Farms India operates a Shopify store with a substantial catalogue of agricultural and farm-related products.

The products had identifiable market demand. However, the store needed a stronger digital foundation to help potential customers:

  • Discover relevant products through Google and AI platforms
  • Understand the brand's positioning
  • Navigate a large product and collection structure
  • Build sufficient trust before purchasing
  • Move more effectively from organic discovery to order placement

The immediate requirement was not simply a visual redesign.

Before undertaking major Conversion Rate Optimisation or restructuring the Shopify storefront, the store first required a technically sound organic-discovery foundation.

The initial challenge

The HYO Farms India Shopify store contained:

  • 257 products
  • 111 collections
  • 18 standard Shopify pages
  • One homepage
  • A growing catalogue requiring clearer search positioning

The products themselves demonstrated market relevance, but the store lacked consistent positioning across its metadata, collections, informational pages and organic content.

A homepage revamp alone would not have addressed these underlying issues.

Redesigning the website before correcting metadata, search intent, content architecture and product discoverability could have produced a visually improved storefront without creating a reliable organic growth foundation.

The Codified Commerce approach

Codified Commerce followed a phased Shopify Growth Support workflow based on Codified Algorithmic Thinking™.

The first priority was to improve how the store and its products were understood by:

  • Google Search
  • Answer engines
  • Generative AI platforms
  • Search crawlers
  • Prospective customers entering through informational searches
  • Future AI-assisted shopping interfaces

The workflow combined human Shopify expertise with AI-assisted execution.

AI was used to accelerate research, metadata development, content production and implementation. However, the project direction, prioritisation, quality control and Shopify execution remained human-led.

Why an app-only DIY approach was not sufficient

It would have been possible to recommend applications such as FlyRank AI, ShopTank, Vizby.ai or general AI platforms such as Claude and ChatGPT and ask the merchant to operate them independently.

That approach was deliberately avoided.

AI tools can support individual activities, but they do not independently provide holistic Shopify Growth Support across:

  • Product-market-fit assessment
  • Brand and category positioning
  • Organic growth strategy
  • Growth marketing
  • Conversion Rate Optimisation
  • Shopify website revamping
  • Enterprise Shopify requirements
  • Storewide implementation accountability

HYO Farms India required a Shopify expert to lead the strategy and use AI as an execution accelerator—not a model where the merchant was expected to build the entire strategy through disconnected AI applications.

The merchant can progressively take greater control after the correct technical, content and positioning foundation has been established.

First-month implementation

1. Storewide on-page SEO

SEO titles and meta descriptions were implemented across the store's primary Shopify resources:

Shopify resource Resources optimised
Homepage 1
Products 257
Collections 111
Standard pages 18
Total 387

This created a more consistent search foundation across the store.

The metadata work was designed to improve:

  • Search relevance
  • Product and collection clarity
  • Click-through potential
  • Search-engine understanding
  • AI-readable product and category context

2. SEO, AEO and GEO content development

Twelve long-form blog posts were researched, written and published directly on the HYO Farms India Shopify store.

The articles were developed to support:

  • SEO: Organic discovery through Google Search
  • AEO: Answer Engine Optimisation for question-based searches
  • GEO: Generative Engine Optimisation for AI-assisted discovery
  • Customer education
  • Category positioning
  • Product discovery
  • Internal linking between content, collections and products

The published URLs were also submitted through Google Search Console for crawling and indexing.

The blogs were not treated as isolated content assets. They were built as organic entry points that could introduce relevant visitors to HYO Farms India and guide them toward appropriate commercial pages.

3. Answer-engine readiness

Necessary AEO-supporting Shopify applications were installed to strengthen the store's structured and machine-readable information.

The implementation focused on improving the availability and clarity of information that may be used by search engines, answer engines and AI platforms when interpreting the store.

This included supporting information around:

  • Products
  • Collections
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Business details
  • Policies
  • Customer-support information

4. Custom Shopify metadata application

A custom Shopify application was developed to support the updating and management of SEO metadata across the store.

With 387 core Shopify resources requiring optimisation, depending exclusively on manual page-by-page editing would have created unnecessary operational complexity.

The custom application helped make the metadata workflow:

  • More scalable
  • More consistent
  • Easier to manage
  • Less dependent on repetitive manual editing
  • Better suited for future optimisation cycles

Why SEO came before the website revamp

The project deliberately prioritised store optimisation before deep CRO and storefront redevelopment.

The first phase was required to establish:

  • Accurate SEO metadata
  • Clearer content architecture
  • Organic search entry points
  • Collection and product context
  • Search-intent coverage
  • Initial indexing data
  • Traffic and discovery signals

Once this foundation is established, CRO decisions can be made using stronger evidence rather than assumptions.

The later CRO phase can then address:

  • Homepage positioning
  • Navigation and collection discovery
  • Product-page structure
  • Trust-building sections
  • Conversion messaging
  • Mobile user experience
  • Calls to action
  • Customer objections
  • Storefront consistency

The positioning opportunity

The assessment indicated that HYO Farms India's products have market relevance. The larger challenge is establishing a clear and consistent position for the brand within that demand.

Positioning cannot usually be solved through a single headline, one homepage change or one month of activity.

It must be reinforced consistently across:

  • Search metadata
  • Blog content
  • Product pages
  • Collection pages
  • Brand messaging
  • Customer education
  • Store navigation
  • Trust signals
  • Conversion pathways

For this reason, sustainable positioning generally requires continuous execution over several months.

First-phase outcome

The first month established the core organic-discovery infrastructure for HYO Farms India:

  • 387 Shopify resources received on-page SEO optimisation
  • 12 long-form SEO, AEO and GEO articles were published
  • Content was submitted through Google Search Console
  • Necessary AEO applications were installed
  • A custom Shopify metadata application was developed
  • The technical and content foundation for future CRO was established

This phase should not be interpreted as a guaranteed ranking, revenue or conversion outcome.

Its purpose was to create the foundation required for search visibility, positioning, content discovery and later conversion improvement.

Recommended next phase

The next stage of Shopify Growth Support should focus on translating the discovery foundation into stronger customer journeys and conversion performance.

The recommended priorities are:

  • Strengthen HYO Farms India's category and brand positioning
  • Review organic landing-page behaviour
  • Improve homepage-to-collection and collection-to-product journeys
  • Refine conversion messaging and trust signals
  • Revamp the Shopify storefront through evidence-led CRO
  • Continue content and search optimisation based on performance data

Conclusion

The HYO Farms India project demonstrates an important Shopify growth principle:

A website revamp should not be treated as an isolated design exercise when the store's metadata, content architecture, organic positioning and search-discovery foundation still require optimisation.

AI applications can accelerate execution. However, sustainable Shopify growth requires a human expert to connect positioning, SEO, AEO, GEO, content, CRO, storefront development and business priorities into one accountable workflow.

That is the role of Codified Commerce Shopify Growth Support.
