How to Use Shopify Sidekick to Run Your Entire Store Operations

What role does Shopify Sidekick play in operations?

Sidekick can support merchants with store-aware analysis and supported admin actions. It is useful for on-demand operational work, but it is not by itself an always-on managed operations system.

Operational use cases

  • Reviewing sales and inventory information.
  • Helping create or inspect customer segments.
  • Supporting product/catalogue administration.
  • Assisting with campaign or discount setup where Shopify supports the action.
  • Helping investigate operational questions in context.

What Sidekick does not replace

Event-driven automation may be better handled by Shopify Flow or custom logic. Enterprise workflows may require APIs and middleware. High-impact changes still need problem definition, permissions, testing and human validation.

CAT provides the control layer

Codified Commerce uses Define → Decompose → Orchestrate → Execute → Validate → Learn to decide which work belongs in Sidekick, Flow, a custom app, an integration or a human process.

Current engagement model

There is no separate Sidekick AI Expert managed-service product. Agentic Commerce work is scoped through Codified Algorithmic Thinking™ under current CAT pricing per approved Shopify Agentic Automation.
